Richard Plunkett
Long-time, and long distance runner. I've done several marathons, including Dublin, Amsterdam, Cologne, Rutland Water, Chester and Liverpool. Plus the White Rose Ultra and North Yorks Coastal Ultra. And 18 consecutive Great North Runs. Currently training for my 10th consecutive London.
I have also been a coach at Halifax Harriers since 2009. I work with the Under 11s and Under 17s groups, who are also a great reminder of the fun that can be had through running.
Whilst recovering from an operation which put me out of action for a while, I suggested to my park running buddy Snehal that it might be nice to set up our own "little" running group. It is not so little anymore, thanks to the great spirit of all who run with us, and who encourage others to "give it a go".
Involvement with ASR and the coaching of kids are in no way responsible for my prematurely grey hair.
