Group Guidelines

Please follow advice and instructions as given on social media posts or at pre run briefings. Study the route prior to running. Consider your own limitations when choosing to run. ASR will endeavour to keep things as planned but may have to cancel or make alterations at short notice. All runners need to sign a Run England disclaimer form. Runners must wear/carry attire suitable for the conditions. E.g. During low light/darkness bright coloured clothing, hi visibility jackets/tabards, flashing lights and head torches/torches should be worn. For safety reasons there should be no headphones worn on our runs. It is strongly advised that runners carry their mobile phones in case of emergency and particularly if leading or tail-running. It is also advised that runners wear/carry some form of I.D/I.C.E.

Groups are requested to set off in no more than 10 people at a time. Wherever possible runners must utilise pavements and face oncoming traffic (e.g. on the right side of the road where the road doesn’t bear right). Please cross roads sensibly, using crossings where available and do not run diagonally across roads or in groups. Our runs are social runs and we encourage that no one runs alone or is left behind.

Under 18’s run with us by prior arrangement and must run with a parent/guardian/assigned person; in the case of 16 and 17 year olds please discuss with an admin/leader as considerations will be made on an individual basis. Dogs run with us by prior arrangement and must be on a short lead.

Our Facebook page is a public page and used by a large group of people including under 18's. Please be mindful of this and considerate of the language and tone that is used when posting and commenting. ASR will not tolerate any form of discrimination or behaviour that would be categorised as bullying, aggression or rudeness. Any issues or concerns about anything ASR related please approach an ASR admin. Please do not take matters into your own hands. ASR is run by volunteers who may not be available 24 hours a day.

ASR reserves the right to uninvite anyone that runs with us. Richard Plunkett & Snehal Patel confounded ASR in January 2014 and all runners are present by invite (albeit unspoken). When wearing ASR merchandise/colours e.g. t-shirts/vests or when referring to ASR on social media we request that this is done in a positive manner.

Do what ASR was intended for, run together and enjoy the benefits and support of being part of a group run!
