Vinay Joshi

I (hesitantly) started running in 2018 when I joined a local running club offering beginners sessions to those that had never run before. Hesitantly, as I was very conscious about drawing any attention to myself for being the slowest and largest runner in the group. My worries were unfounded.....the group was very inclusive and supportive and I met many like minded individuals who wanted to get fitter in a fun and relaxed environment. After completing the beginners course, I continued running 3-4 times a week and really enjoyed helping those that were starting their running journeys, just as I had. To better support the club and the runners, I qualified as a Run Leader Assistant, then a England Athletics Leader in Running Fitness and most recently as a England Athletics Coach in Running Fitness. I am also a guide runner for visually impaired and hard of hearing runners. I now lead my own groups as well as support existing groups throughout Northants and have worked on projects with Northamptonshire Sport to help engage the local community to become more active, as well as being a Run Director at Irchester Country parkrun. I have set up running groups to help support those that may be experiencing mental health or trauma, so that they are able to be active in a safe environment, away from stressful triggers. I have recently qualified as a Run Leader Mentor to be able to help Run Leaders that are looking for support. I am also an England Athletics Track Judge. I am passionate about helping new and returning runners progress through their running journey. I hope that I can assist you, whether you are embarking on your first run or are a seasoned runner looking for specific support.
