Running became part of my life 5 years ago because I struggled to get to the gym in the school holidays. Being able to lace up and head out gave me some much needed head space. Working up to a 10k run and entering a couple of events gave me a real boost, a friend suggested joining the running group to run with like minded people. The group leaders were so inspiring and encouraging, I ran my first marathon within a year of joining. Such an amazing sense of achievement! Now I am giving something back to the group and hopefully can inspire others to achieve their goals.
