Near and Far

parkrun

There may be over 700 parkruns aound the UK,  of which 62 are in Yorkshire and The Humber, Oakwell Hall parkrun will always be home to many of the BRF Family.

It's completely free to enter you just need to register first to get your barcode. Remember to select Birstall RunFIT as your group when you enter your details.

These weekly free 5km timed events are a great way to see how you're progressing. It's also a perfect opportunity to meet other runners and socialise over a celebratory brew.

A huge "Thank You" and a very big "Shout Out" to all the core teams who enable parkruns to go ahead every week and to all the marshals who cheer on the runners whatever the weather.  If you are able to volunteer everynow & then simply let your parkrun of choice know via their facebook page or offical parkrun webpage and they'll give you more details.

You'll also find a few of the BRF regulars supporting the local junior park run at Wilton Park, Batley on a Sunday morning.  It's a bit like parkrun but on a smaller scale. Great way to introduce children to the parkrun family and to give something back by volunteering.

Races

Being part of a running group doesn't mean you have to enter races but we will always support those who want to; with training and celebrate those finish lines with a brew and maybe a piece of cake. If races are your thing then check out racebest where you will find races of all distances and terrains; inclunding the Firefighter's 5 Road Race and #runforjo which BRF support both behind the scenes and on race day.
