Coaching Session Overview
We will offer a variety of sessions over time to help you improve your efficiency and potentially your pace.
The Coaching sessions will usually last about 1 hour and will follow the structure below
- Warm Up - 5-10 minutes - dynamic drills / exercises / games to get your muscles warmed up and breathing and heart rate raised,
- Unit 1 - Technical session Running drills / exercises
- This 20 minute session will focus on a variety of running and exercise drills. The purpose is to slowly improve your running technique to help make it more efficient and potentially make better use of your energy.
- These drills and exercises can also help in injury avoidance
- Some sessions will involve exercises to improve your balance, coordination and / or agility
- Unit 2 - Physical preparation through running
- This 20 minute session will work on your various energy systems to improve your physical capability.
- This may involve running sessions such as Fartlek(speed play), Hill repetitions, intervals and repetitions and trail running.
- It will also have some focus on how the techniques are applied during the run that were practiced in Unit 1
- Cool Down - 10 minutes
- Static stretches / cool down games
