Kate Macfarlane

Run Coach, Group Leader, Run Leader I took up running 12 years ago, as a mum of two young children, as a means to get fit and meet new friends. I started as a complete beginner but now regularly participate in running events, ranging from 5km to full marathon & ultra distances. I joined the Moving Mums scheme early in 2016 and completed the UK Athletics Leader in Running Fitness qualification in June of that year. I have subsequently run two Moving Mums groups at Hillmead Primary School and Thorley Neighbourhood Centre. In June 2018 I gained the UK Athletics Coach in Running Fitness qualification and launched Coach Kate:Women's Running Groups. I am both a licensed coach and leader of all ability runners in this group and I lead all sessions myself. In January 2021 I also became a UK Athletics Endurance Event Group Performance Coach, licensing me to coach runners of any age on road or track. I am fully insured, DBS checked and first aid trained.
