Louise Collins

Louise is a Leader in Running Fitness for Durham Mums on the Run. She says " I started running in 2015 because my friend asked me to do the Great North Run for her Little Stars charity (I had never ran before and I hated running at school) but surprisingly I was quite good at it, since then I have done the GNR 3 times and other half marathons and I am now training for a marathon. I always trained/run on my own and only in the summer months when the weather was nice, until 2019 when I joined Elvet Striders and DMotR and I was introduced to group running, running in the winter, the rain and in the dark with a body torch. I love the social side of running with a group and have made some lovely friends. I did my Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) course through the Council as they needed run leaders to lead walk/running".
