Ann Rush

I began running in my early 30s and ran regularly for the next 15 years or so, not as a club member or in any way competitively, but with friends as a way of keeping fit and having some "me" time. However, as time went on and my priorities changed, I ran less and less and eventually not at all. In August 2015 I had an accident and broke a bone in my foot. Following a long and difficult recovery I decided that it was time to get back out on the trails and start running again. I followed a couch to 5K programme in a magazine and entered a Race for Life. Then I entered Durham 5K in 2016 and met ladies from Durham Mums on the Run for the first time. After retiring later that year, I joined DMOTR, connected with so many likeminded people and I have not looked back. With support and encouragement from this wonderful group I have completed a marathon at the age of 60. I am delighted to be able to give something back to this group as a Run Leader.
