Beginners Groups / Courses

Our Couch to 5k Warmup group is for those wanting to become more active, but not quite ready to take on the C25K challenge. It's an eight-week course for complete beginners. It involves a mixture of brisk walking and gentle jogging.

Our Couch to 5k course follows a successful 10-week plan suitable for those who have never run and those returning from injury. The course covers warm-up, stretches, cool down, running ability, kit, pace, and all other aspects of getting started with running. 

Both these course cost £10, payable once you've registered. This covers overheads including the cost of your finishers medal - yes you get a medal at the end!  We are a not for profit organisation and any surplus funds are regularly donated to charity.

Monday Night Social Run  - a gentle run, which you should view as your easy run for the week. Relax as you run at your own pace, loop-back at regular intervals to join others, have a natter and enjoy the social aspect of running.

Wednesday Run Night! - This session lasts approximately 40 minutes and is slightly more challenging than the relaxed Monday night run. We operate a loopback system so nobody is left behind. Once a month in the Wednesday run there is a more structured training session involving activities such as hill repeats, intervals, team efforts etc.

All leaders have the England Athletics 'Leadership in Running Fitness' qualification and all fees are ploughed back into the group.

Sorry, we are unable to take under-16s, dogs or pushchairs.
