Jodi Brown

I started running in my late 30s, having been pretty much inactive up to that point. I completed the Couch to 5k programme in 2016 using the NHS app, running solo around quiet, rural lanes in Oxfordshire and was amazed how quickly my stamina, fitness and confidence increased. I'm now a qualified run leader (LiRF) and training to be a run coach (CiRF) with England Athletics. I love running and nothing else gives me the same kind of thrill that running does...although my relationship with it has wavered with injury, weight changes, life circumstances and the inevitable process of ageing! Nevertheless, running is always there for me and I love being able to help others start to believe that they too could be a runner! I have completed numerous races of every distance from 5k to 100k and must admit, I do prefer the adventure and challenge of trail and ultra running. I'm not into speed, just experience and enjoyment, and my favourite terrain is on top of a mountain or wading through a river! I am the Far Runner Mental Health Champion. I'm a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, and work in mental health, so it's something that means a lot to me. I also have first hand experience of knowing what running can do for wellbeing and mental health. If you want a chat about running with us before coming along for your first session, or are feeling anxious about it, please get in touch, and I can hopefully put your mind at ease!
