TOP TIPS
Additional questions I usually get asked:-
What do I wear - there is no need to go out and buy anything new as long as you wear something comfortable. Layer up in the winter so you can layer off as you get warmed up. Trainers are a must but hold off on new trainers until you get into running. I can then tell you where the best places are to shop.
Will I be cold - the answer is definitely no! once we get started you honestly wont feel the cold.
What if Im at the back will I be holding people up - my groups are aimed at mixed abilities there is no need to be fast it is really very important you work at your own level. It is impossible to get a session where everyone is the same ability. There will always be front runners, middle and back you will slip into the group you feel most comfortable to work at and you will definitely not hold anyone up. When we start beginners we always do loop backs to keep the group together so no one gets left behind.
Drink - it is always adviseable to carry a drink so you can say hydrated during the session, always take little sips rather than gulping!
Talk Test - when exercising you should be able to talk, not in long conversations but at a level where you can say a few words. If you are gasping for breath you are working too hard and it is adviseable to take it down a level.
Injuries - please always tell me if you have any injuries, please also tell me if anything changes from week to week. If you have any injuries or health concerns please get checked by your GP prior to signing up. Remember once you are signed up there are no refunds. Refunds are only given if the course is not fully subscribed.
How often should I run - running once a week is not enough to improve it is always adviseable to participate in exercise throughout the week. I have a weekly Boxercise session which is a great cross trainer for running which you are welcome to come to on Thursdays, United Reformed Church, Hurst Road, Bexley 7pm.
I can't run - I can't tell you how many people tell me they can't run believe me anyone can run these sessions will show you how.
Is there a difference between and jogger and a runner - there is no difference they mean exactly the same thing.
