Paul Fry

Always hated running and as a younger guy had never been able to get past 5 miles. 3 years ago was informed by a friend that we would be running and supporting a guy running 401 marathons in 401 continuous days. 4 weeks later we did run with Ben Smith and what a truly inspirational experience (and guy, look him up) this was.
From there I joined a local C25K (realizing that I'd always hated running because I ran at full pelt and couldn't breathe), this small group then formed Freck & Warton Running Club and was very proud to be appointed club captain.

The club has gone from strength to strength, every member being supported by everyone else and we relish all abilities so we can see people accomplish impossible (what they think) goals, be that running a mile without stopping or running an ultra.
I'm very proud to state that in 2019 I ran the London Marathon (not bad for a mid 50s guy who had only started running 2 years before) but what was so special was the support from the club, organizing training plans, route planning and charity events.
I've discovered running can actually be fun, come down to the club and find this out for yourself.
