Katrina Wilson

I joined the very first HLB C25K group at the start of 2018, having never enjoyed sport, and especially not running. Being in my mid 40's when I started, I felt very nervous about starting in a group, but I wanted to improve my general health. Looking back it is one of the best decisions I ever made, and in terms of improving my mental health, it has been a lifesaver. I have a special interest and lots of experience in mental health issues, and I passionately advocate walking and/or running as vital to maintaining good mental health. I am a qualified mental health first aider, and I'm proud of how my running has improved since I completed C25K, running distances of 5 and 10Km. I also enjoy using the run/walk method (Jeffing), and I recently completed a virtual half marathon using this technique.
