I have been running for over 5 years I enjoy being a run leader. I have a real passion for encouraging women into sport and running. I like to be there when women realise what they are capable of. I have passed my Leadership in Running Fitness Qualification. I went from being an obese non runner in my own life to taking control and starting to run and I have never looked back since. Starting to run was the best thing I ever did for my body and my mind. I've since gone on to run half marathons, 10ks and another two half marathons entered this year and next. It has done wonders for my mental health and helped my confidence and relationships with others tenfold. I started this group so anyone else who like me was nervous to go to a running club or to run with more experienced runners could run with others at a level that suits them and ease themselves into running gently and meet new friends while they were doing it. The women that come to the sessions are all at different points in their journeys and have different reasons for joining for weight loss, for mental health reasons, to achieve their running goals, to add training in for races or just coming for the social element. They are all different shapes and sizes, different levels of abilities and from different backgrounds. We welcome all of you :) The one thing that is clear to me is that in this time that we get together, it is our time: Time to connect, time to be present, time to turn up, time to get it done, time to be ourselves and time to be there for others within our group. We pride ourselves on being supportive and non-judgemental and very welcoming to all new ladies that come along. Why not come and join us.
