Nicola Arnot

I started running in April 2014. Downloaded the couch 2 5k app and got out on my own. A few people at work decided to enter me into the corporate challange of Gloucester 10k which was the July of that year, so no chance of quitting!
I plucked up the courage to join Kingsway Runners in the September of that year after months of being petrified of joining a running club. I needn't have worried, it is one of the best and most life changing decisions I ever made! I loved it so much I qualified as a Leader in October 2015 as I wanted to give back the same support I had been given.
Since then I have run anything from Parkrun to an Ultra, taken part in numerous Obstacle Course Races, mud runs and recently completed my first triathlon. None of this would have been possible without the support of this club and the people in it.
My advice to anyone who is nervous about joining a club is to just bite the bullet and turn up. The first step is the hardest but it will be well worth it.
