Lady Runners Rules & Etiquette

We are a women-only running group and have members of all shapes, sizes and abilities. Our members run for all sorts of reasons: to get/stay fit; to have some ‘me’ time; to train for an event; to make new friends; to do hard sessions which we’d never do alone; to look after our physical and mental health. We are a relaxed group but have the following rules/etiquette to ensure the health, safety and enjoyment of all members.

Generally if you can run 3 miles (speed is not so important), you will fit right in to one of our sessions.

1.    We meet every Monday (excluding bank holidays) at 6.25pm in the entrance hall of the Prince of Wales Stadium. Please ensure prompt arrival to allow you to participate in the warm up. We aim to leave promptly at 6.30pm.

2.    We do not expect new members to have expensive running kit but do insist that members should have the correct footwear for safe running ie a pair of trainers.

3.    Safety is paramount so we request that all runners are adequately lit (lights or hi-viz clothing) when running in the winter (dark nights).

4.    We love the sociability of running and encourage chatting. We actively support #RunAndTalk. However, we ask that all runners listen to leaders briefings both before the run starts and during the run at each loopback point.

5.    For safety reasons we request that head-phones are not used when running with the group.

6.    We require all members to register with Run Together to ensure we have access to emergency contact details if required.

7.    Dogs / pushchairs are not permitted (to ensure safety of all our runners and members of public too).

8.   When running, we must remember that pedestrians have the right of way over us. Lady Runners should always be polite and courteous to members of the public plus we always thank people that pull aside for us to let us pass or keep their dogs controlled as we run past.

9.    For safety reasons, we observe the highway code and road safety in all runs.

10.   Sessions cost £2 - if this is a problem, please speak to one of our leaders.
Happy running!
