Welcome to the Love Running Tuesday Nighters!

About our group

The Love Running Tuesday Nighters was created in 2012 to offer a safe, supportive and happy environment for all abilities and new beginners. It is run by me - Jo Randall - with the support of my wonderful husband (and fellow Run Leader) Simon, and the sole objective of the group is to make running fun, achieveable, accessible and happy!

The group has grown a lot over the years, and we now have 3 different ability groups every week ("beginners", "intermediates" and "advanced") and a whole team of qualified LiRF Run Leaders to assist us, so there really is something for everyone - regardless of age, fitness or ability.

Whether you are a new runner; a lapsed runner looking to get back into it; recovering from injury or illness; looking to lose weight or get fitter; training for a race; running regularly and looking to add another happy session into your week; looking for a friendly group and potential new friends or just running for fun... this could be the group for you!

Even if you already belong to a UKA Running Club you can come along to the Love Running Tuesday Nighters without it affecting your membership. Currently around 50% of my members are UKA Running Club members too!

In summer 2016 we won the regional award for "Best Run England Running Group", which was a huge surprise and meant that we become finalists in the National Awards! This says a lot about the love, tenacity, support and dedication of all the people involved in the group.

In October 2016 we WON the National "Run England Group of the Year" award - an accolade we are very proud of, and will work hard to justify in the coming years.

In 2016 we were also proud winners of the Community Action Award here on the Isle of Wight.

In 2019 we started to include (thanks to the enthusiasm and help of our fellow Run Leaders) some very successful "fartlek" sessions and - in July 2019 - the group's first ever organised Hill Session too. There is always something for everyone, regardless of fitness and ability, and the benefits of running in a group environment are clear to see.

In March 2020 we were proud to support "This Girl Can" - a campaign to encourage women of all ages & abilities to take up group running as a safe and enjoyable sport. Sadly the campaign stopped due to Covid, and all group sessions ceased until July 2021. Since then we have resumed our 3 ability group sessions.

Come and join us. Running should be fun, achieveable and accessible - and we'd like to help you love it as much as we do!  :-)
