How do I join the club?

We're not quite ready to take on members yet, as we're finalising our plans, but we're expecting to kick things off in January 2018, so please come back and see us then.

How fast do you run?

Our “Beginner to 5k” course will be designed to get you up to running a 5k, so we’d recommend everyone new to running to start with that.

Once you’re a member and attending club nights, we will always try and cater for the pace of participants, and if needs be, nominating a faster & experienced member of the group to lead those going quicker & the Run Leader supporting those of a slower pace.

When do you run?

We're not quite ready to confirm our official club nights yet, as we're finalising our plans, but we're expecting to kick things off in January 2018, so please come back and see us then.

What is the difference between the Muddy Runners Poole Members Facebook Group and the Muddy Runners Poole Facebook Page?

The Facebook group is for our current members only. It is where we manage group runs, socials and announcements. The Facebook page is open everyone to view and serves to promote the club.

Do you run in events?

All the time! We attend many local events, from 5ks, 10ks, 10 miles, half marathons and marathons. You'll often see us at Parkrun, trail runs, wacky events and 24 hour team runs….we’ll try most things!

If we’re not running ourselves but we know friends are, we’ll also try and attend to cheer them on…we’re nice like that!

We’ll post information about runs we’re attending or ones we recommend on our Facebook page / member group

Can I run if I am under 18?

We currently have Run Leaders are LIRF qualified through England Atheltics and are DBS checked (in fact, some are teachers in their day jobs), so can accept under 18s on runs held by these leaders, but we cannot guarantee that will be every run. Therefore, if you are under 18, please contact us to discuss your options.

Are you an England Athletic Affiliated Club?

No, Muddy Runners Poole is not an affiliated club. If you do wish to become affiliated, we can help you with that. Currently the cost is £14 per year and means you get a discount off many events, as well as helping Run England to support sports at all levels.

Can I wear headphones?

We ask that our runners do not wear headphones whilst on our runs. It is important that everyone can hear instructions given by our run leaders so that the groups are safe and do not obstruct other path users. Also, we are a social group, and part of the fun is to talk with your fellow runners!

How do I get a Muddy Runners top?

We're not quite ready to take merchandise orders yet, as we're finalising our plans, but we're expecting to kick things off in January 2018, so please come back and see us then.
