Lazaros Fotopoulos

Lazaros is the main running leader for the "Couch to 5K" sessions in a collaboration between the Nottingham-shire YMCA and Nottingham City Council funded by the "Get Out Go Active" project . He has successfully delivered 4 "Couch to 5K" programs in the last year and he is now back for his 5th and 6th blocks of sessions. The experience he has collected can guarantee fun, inclusive and effective training sessions helping you to run your 1st 5K and/or improve elements increasing speed and strength!


Lazaros is currently working as a Project Scientist for the Research & Development division at a biotechnology company in Nottingham and at his free time, he loves teaching fitness classes and leading running clubs.

-FAA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work
-Qualified Level 2 Fitness Instructor - YMCA
-Qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer - Active IQ
-Award in Instructing Studio Cycling - Active IQ
-Award in Instructing Suspension Training - Active IQ
-Qualified Leadership in Running Fitness - UK Athletics

Education & Background:
-PhD in Stem Cells and Liver Development in the School of Medicine at the University of Nottingham, UK
-MSc in Stem Cell Technology at the University of Nottingham, UK
-BSc in General & Applied Biology at the University of Ioannina, Greece
