I first started running about 13 years ago and gradually built up to completing a few 'Race for Life' runs. I moved to Nottingham and stopped running however after getting a job in the Staff Wellbeing Team decided I should probably start again! I completed the Couch to 5k and Improvers courses and felt such a sense of achievement. I have since had 2 children and have noticed a dramatic change in my fitness levels - it is much harder to prioritise the time but I know that when I do I feel better physically and mentally. I love being a run leader and the best bit is seeing people's faces crossing the finish line - it is good to feel proud of yourself!
