Michelle Vallance

Hello, my name is Michelle and I love running with the ladies in Notts Women Runners and am hoping to introduce many more ladies to the joys of running which is why I became a run leader. My "patch" is Calverton, my local NWR running group is NWR Calverton Chasers who run regularly on Tuesdays ... a happy, chatty social 5k run.

I started running regularly at the age of 50 ... to run a 10k trail run was on my bucket list! and found Notts Women runners just a short while later. I managed to run my 10k trail at Sherwood Pines despite a knee injury affecting training, so that was a big tick in the bucket list box. Unfortunately due to a bit of a battle with the big C it would be a full year before I could run another 10k. I reprised my first 10k four months after finishing chemo ... coming last but I ran every step and was very pleased, it was a big step to full recovery ... and I haven't stopped since!
