On Saturday 3 March 2018 RED Runners held its official launch celebration by staging a 'takeover' of Hockley Woods parkrun. More than 20 club members undertook volunteer duties at the event, which was one of the few parkruns to take place in Essex following the snow and freezing conditions of the past week.

Luckily local runners still ventured out, with 154 completing the 5k course through the woods. They were all rewarded with a specially commissioned RED Runners cupcake and hot drinks from the stall the club had set up at the race finish area.

RED Runners are now taking members for the 18/19 running year (from as little as £5 per year) and local runners are welcome to attend club nights as guests to get a taste of the RED experience.
