Welcome to The Rawmarsh Runners running group
About our group
We are a running and walking group open to all abilities and ages. We are free of charge to join. Children are welcome to join us but must be supervised by a responsible adult. We have 3 EA DBS verified and qualified run leaders.
We meet every Saturday morning at 9am, Monday evenings at 6.30pm in Rosehill Park at the Bandstand. Wednesday evenings 6.00pm Rosehill Park or 6.45pm Manvers.
On Saturdays we host 3 options, walk, trail run or road run of varying distances to suit the group. Nobody is ever left behind we always stay together "Ohana" is our club moto - we are family and family means no-one is ever left behind. Saturdays run/walk ends with a visit to The Pavillion Cafe for tea and cake (The best bit!!)
Mondays are a more specialist session working on improving speed and hill work. Again these are open to everyone. We have a number of members who have improved their fitness well into their 60's and 70's who regularly take part as well as children from Primary school age taking part in our Runstars group
Wednesdays the run/walkers meet at 6pm for "The Boomerang" which is an out and back route and is approximately 2.5 miles (extendable if required). Perfect for any beginners. We also do our evening trail/road/torch run meeting at 6.45pm at Manvers which can be anything from 4 - 6 miles.
There are a number of day time walks hosted by "Our Joan" one of our Run & Walk Leaders again followed by optional tea & cake at the Pavillion Cafe - this is perfect if you have small children in prams and want to get out for some fresh air for an hour.
We do hold other runs and walks on other days which are strictly advertised to our members only to protect their safety. These runs are shown on our members group page. We welcome new members to the group but please note you will be removed if do not attend any sessions.
We have also recently introduced our Half Marathon Training on Sundays. These are 10 week plans which cater for anyone wanting to go from 10k to half marathon distance. Sundays are mostly road runs (there may be some minor trail sections) and are bookable on the app. We recommend you join the plan from the beginning however if you wish to join us during a plan please be aware you would be expected to run the distance planned for that week.
If you would like to know more about what we do and how we could help you get more active or maybe you just want some company on your runs/walks then please get in touch or better still come along to one of our sessions. You will always be made very welcome.
