About our group
"Our mission is to promote a healthy lifestyle through a shared passion for running, within a supportive, enthusiastic, friendly, mixed ability group."
'Rookie to Runner' is a daytime social running group. It is ideal as a next step for those progressing from a couch to 5k programme, or anyone who just enjoys running with others.
We are committed to supporting runners in improving their fitness, pace and distance through weekly training runs. Our runs are usually mixed terrain and vary in distance between 5k and 10k depending on group ability and goals. We can currently cater for two groups. One for those wishing to improve their 5k time and one for those looking to extend their distance beyond 5k.
Post-run, we provide an opportunity to socialise and have refreshments with other group members for a £1 contribution. (This goes to the football club for the use of their facilities)
We often find local races you can choose to enter if you wish and we participate in local Park Runs.
Our friendly team of run leaders welcome you to join us and see if it's your thing! If you love chatty runs, I'm sure it will be!
