10km group week 9

Week 9

This week we repeated the hill reps from week 5. This was 5 x 30m, 5x x 50m and 30, 50, 30, 50, 30m. You all put in a fantastic effort and I am very proud of how far that you have come. I cannot imagine that you would have been able to complete that kind of a session, especially not at that sort of speed when we were doing the C25K runs.

This is the first time that we have run a 5-10km group and have tried to use a variety of sessions to keep things exciting. Following the MoRun on the 19th I will be writing a little questionnaire, not that you must fill it in, but it would be great for us to receive feedback on what sessions worked well and which sessions maybe did not and what we could do to improve sessions in the future. It is important to us that you enjoy the sessions and want to keep coming back.

This week we would recommend that you complete one 60 minute run at a constant steady speed preferably with no stopping. We only have one session left now before the 10k and hope that you are all feeling excited/confident that you can go the distance. On the day of the race we will all be at Heaton Park, Simon and Garry are running the race, I myself will be comping and standing somewhere around the course acting as support. We will have a discussion about where best to meet up and we will get a team photo before the race if we can.

Only one hurdle left
