Running & Walking for Physical and Mental Wellbeing
About our group
RunFit5K (formerly SlimFit5K) is a fun & inclusive running and walking group in Leamington Spa and surrounding areas for those wanting to manage physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and health. During our sessions, as well as following a Walk2Run or Power Walking programme, we focus on posture and technique, mindset and achieving your running or walking goals.
We are not a competitive group so speed and time is not important. Our runners average a 35 to 40 minute 5k and no one is left alone at the back. Our walkers attenpt to complete a 5k in an hour or under and we work toward that goal. The exercise, companionship and the benefits of running and walking mean more than the digits on a stop watch. We welcome people from all walks of life, especially those over 40 and who may not see themselves as fitting the the stereotypical exerciser. We are inclusive of ethnicity, sexuality and gender, as well as those with disabilities.

RunFit5k is an approved Mental Health group through Run Together and Mind and Rachel is an official Mental Health Champion as part of this program. We host a number of #RunandTalk and #Walkand Talk events throughout the year to support things like Mental Health Day and Mental Health Awareness Week. RunFit 5k is managed and led by Rachel (more info about Rachel's jouney can be seen by clicking her profile below/to the right). All course finishers will receive a medal and we also have gift certificates available for all our courses.
