Doug Hobson

Having traditionally always played football as a teenager, I started running in 2012 in a bid to lose weight and keep fit after starting a desk job post-university. Like most new runners I improved quickly and enjoyed trying out all race distances up to the half-marathon. A key part of this improvement was starting interval/hill runs which is why I am keen to offer these sessions. Over the past couple of years I tend to train smarter with the aim of avoiding injury and enjoying running - with the occasional race thrown in. I really enjoy trail running and exploring the footpaths that surround the village, and parkrunning on Saturday mornings. I joined Run Redbourn in 2020 as a 'second' club having moved to the village, and I have been a member of St Albans Striders since 2012 where I completed my LIRF course.
