Jim Newton

I am not an athletic type and I have to confess to not being particularly competitive. However, what I love about running is, that I have found that not only if I do enough I can eat pretty much what I want to, but I have also found a group of friends who share a common interest. We enjoy running in all forms, whether that is a gentle bumble along the South Downs or a jog around the streets of Steyning. We encourage each other and share our personal triumphs and also find running to be a social thing.

I have completed distances (races) from 5km events to 50km Ultra marathons and a multi-day event covering 75km.

I occasionally consider myself to be a runner, but most of the time I just think of myself as someone who runs. I have completed the Leader in Running Fitness (LiRF) course and help Lisa Beaney run her running group. I enjoy encouraging others to enjoy their running and hope that you will come along to Steyning Joggers and have a go!
