Getting the running bug.
I would say I have always been sporty and over many years flirted with running; doing the odd parkrun (10 in 5 years) and Manchester 10k back in 2013, but only really being a fair weather runner and of no real distance.
Fast forward to August 2018 and my brother in law had convinced me to run the Abbey Dash so I took myself out for a run around the Res to start my training.
Lots of people out running that night in all directions (this I would find out later is 'looping' ) many wearing similar colour tops.
I was approached by Andrea when I finished my run and she told me about Tingley RunFIT and I honestly haven't looked back.
Despite at times being heavily outnumbered from all the ladies running I found it so much easier to be out running in a group and have got the running bug. This has filtered to my wife who has also got the bug and I now alternate my RunFIT nights with Ali.
One thing is for sure I didn't expect to become a run leader, it is not something that comes naturally to me but I am keen to give something back to the group, and hopefully lead some enjoyable sessions for the team.
I could go on but will leave you with this:
Running gives you fitness/is great for mental health and will massively boost your confidence.
Running with Tingley RunFIT just enhances all of this.
YOU WILL NOT REGRET RUNNING, YOU MAY NOT ALWAYS ENJOY YOUR RUN BUT YOU WILL NEVER REGRET IT.
