Hazel Stones

I started running because my friend made me go to parkrun! I've never looked back.

I was a walker first, and have slowly built up through walk/run to now taking part in 5k and 10k races, and of course parkrun every Saturday morning.

None of this would have been possible without the support and encouragement of the rest of the Tingley RunFIT squad. I love running as part of a group mainly because of the fun we have! We have quite a wide range of abilities and different goals but everyone is catered for.

While I have learned to enjoy running alone, being a club member has added variety to my running, and introduced me to many people who I very much now count as friends. As my own performance has improved, I have become more interested in taking an active role in the support of others, along with starting to explore the technical side of running and fitness, so completing the Leadership in Running Fitness seemed a natural progression.

I'm really looking forward to supporting Natalie and seeing the group members go from strength to strength.
