Steve Wellsted

To get fitter I started running back in 2010 and joined a local running group which is where I met Ruth, we both became known as the 'Unicorns' mainly because apart from group runs people never saw us out running but we somehow magically finished marathons. I love the outdoors and I quickly realised that I preferred trail running over road running. I live in Wye and its trail running paradise, I love the woods, the hills, running in any weather and splashing through the mud. I don't have much fear of getting out there and attempting any distance, I love the adventure of it all and I have completed quite a few marathons and a handful of ultra-marathons of which my favourite was the North Downs Way 50. Being part of Trail Chasers is the best thing ever, we get to go out on a wide range of runs, we have fun, its very social ( on occasion we like to go for breakfast and enjoy a few pints in the local pub) and most of all I have made some amazing lifelong friends.
