High Intensity Nordic Running (with poles) - Instruction / Practice & Prep for Cross-country Skiing

Book a session

About this run

Do you want to aim to significantly improve your aerobic fitness, and VO2 Max? Do you want to burn more calories and gain more health benefits than just running? High intensity running is guaranteed with Nordic Running! This is an instruction and coaching session to running with long (upto shoulder height) cross-country skiing poles, to replicate cross-country skiing movements but, more importantly, significantly increase energy expenditure. Running with poles engages upper body muscles as well as lower body when running. The session will allow you to use poles (which Heathley provides based on your height) when running, taking weight off the knees and hips, and is a great way to prepare for Cross-country Skiing. The session will be at Stanborough Park (North side), Welwyn Garden City, on grass, and for approx. 60 mins, which includes instruction and running practice time. Please wear Trail Running shoes, bring some light gloves, and some water. Group numbers are limited.
