About this run

This is a trail run using poles (please bring your own, or you can hire from Heathley for £5), to increase energy expenditure by using the upper body, and taking weight off the knees and hips. We'll practice how to use the poles efficiently whilst running, and how they can be beneficial over undulating terrain. Running with poles is popular in adventure races or ultra-trail runs. You may be practicing for these, and this will be an ideal development session, where you can run with like-minded athletes, or just exercise with poles for fun! The run will be between 5 and 10k in length, and over undulating terrain. See video for example:
