About our group
The Ascension Running Community aims to meet and run together on a regular basis, for a community social run. This is deliberately not about chasing PB's (there are some fantastic running clubs around that can help you with this) but rather about enjoying running together in our local area.
The runs will be 5km upwards, so runners should already be comfortable running 5km although you don't need to be fast. If you need some help getting to this stage, get in touch as we can point you in the direction of beginner courses to help you reach the 5km stage.
We want to grow a community that will be supportive and encouraging to anyone who comes to run with us.
This is also a #RunAndTalk session, with the aim of improving mental health through running by getting people talking about mental health, sharing their experiences and removing stigma, providing support and guidance to raise awareness of mental health problems and supporting peopleexperiencing mental health problems to be physically active through running, whether that is to support them in starting, returning to or continuing to run.
