Welcome to our running group
About our group
Welcome to Bulwell Runners and Walkers. Visit our main website at www.bulwellrunners.co.uk
Bulwell Runners is a friendly and supportive running and walking group that meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 7 pm at Ken Martin Leisure Centre, Bulwell. We run on different routes depending on the season, but we always enjoy the beauty of our surroundings, whether it's the urban landscape in winter or the rural scenery in summer. We welcome runners of all abilities, from beginners to intermediates, from people who want to get back into running to people who just love a 5K run with a wonderful group of friends. We have sessions that suit your fitness level, ranging from gentle runs of a few kilometres to more challenging runs of up to 7 kilometres. Our sessions are fun and last about an hour.
We started our running group in February 2022, and since then we have grown rapidly, with an average of 20 - 30 runners per session. We are a registered charity that promotes running for fitness, wellbeing, positive mental health and social interactions. We want to help people make running and socialising a part of their everyday life, through social running and group exercise. We are run by volunteers who are passionate about encouraging people to get outdoors, breathe some fresh air, and enjoy running in the countryside with good company and camaraderie. We aim to make running accessible and enjoyable for everyone, so no matter what your experience level is, you will always find a warm welcome here.
We are focused on helping others integrate running and walking into their lifestyle. We believe that running can help people with social anxiety, fitness, and general wellbeing. That's why we offer a comprehensive 'Walk to Jog' program, as well as our popular Couch to 5K course, and our 5K’ers to improve stamina, confidence, and comfort with running; sessions are usually full of laughter, chatting and great fun!
