Bridget Smithson
In September 2018, having never run before, I took the plunge and signed up for the 0-5 k course with Earlswood Running Club. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. With Kate's endless enthusiasm and encouragement, I completed the course and gained a love of running. A love of running that helps with my physical and mental health. There's nothing better than going for a run (whatever the weather!) and feeling great afterwards. A love of running that introduced me to a new family of friends. It's lovely to be able to have a chat to running buddies during our social runs and feel a real sense of friendship and community. With Kate at the helm, the group has grown from strength to strength and last autumn, Kate encouraged me to train to be a Run Leader. It was the perfect tonic during lockdown! I'm so happy now to be able to give something back to the club that started it all.
