Star Flyer

Well done to our star flyer Richard Warren here is why you are such a deserving recipient of this years award

- Farsley Festival tree collections; emails, mapping and team collection of 130 trees (£700 raised)
- Made, advertised, sold and delivered Farsley Festival love eggs – mug with Easter egg.
- Gave Rodley Nature Reserve ‘Rosie’ (the Farsley Festival boat) after they had theirs stolen....
- Recognition from community police for snow clearing / offers of snowbound help – particularly after they’d smashed their van 😊
- Continued #SchoolDropFit the whole year, encouraging parents from Springbank school to run.
- First ever 10k for #SchoolDropFit group, and they smashed the Bradford 10k
- Took the #SchoolDropFit group to run v.hilly Pudsey 10k again in really strong times.
- Run lead at Farsley Flyers I think every week except 2 - 1 being holiday the other being a Daniel school meeting.
- Wandered the Yorkshire 3 peaks just for fun.
- Learnt a lot of Farsley area history from the library.
- Started learning and practising edible foraging locally.
- Trialled Farsley history running routes with Farsley Flyers and others.
- Trialled offering paid-for couch to 5k sessions
- Farsley Festival 2018 went down a treat. Lots of planning, paperwork and media type stuff from my side. It’s my name on the official public permissions so no rioting please.
- Setup and ran a v.popular Farsley Festival fun stall at Coop Priesthorpe Academy community day.
- Started run leading at ProFIT28 gym.
- Won £500 Halfords vouchers, VIP TdY final tickets and tons of Mug Shots – Daniel got a new bike out of it.
- Promotion (paid) work for Love to Ride in March and September both public and business events.
- Began to engage with CEG / Kirkstall Forge health and wellbeing; including paid bike rides.
- Lots of Cityconnect promotion through public and business face to face events.
- Various British Cycling voluntary rides aimed at the introductory level
- Sweat Pledge weekend including ride leading with Jo to take 30 folk cycling around Wakefield plus a run with Kajsa Tylen.
- Began regular longer distance running – marathons and ultras
- Started a little kick-box circuit training at Chloe Moore fitness.
- November – the big one, running every day the number of miles as the day of the month #NovPlus1. Raised over £1600 for Leeds Deaf Children’s Society.
- Organised a street dance work shop with Chris Fonseca (check out Greatest Dancer 2019) for the Leeds Deaf Children’s Society.
- More involved with Leeds Deaf Children’s Society including meeting and chatting with Sue Daniels CEO of National Deaf Children's Society.
- A couple of intros to the contemporary dance world thanks to Spin Arts
- Daniel started going regularly to a BID Services deaf youth club and I’m subsequently trying to help and promote that team.
- Learnt a fair bit of Spanish, not reached GCSE kind of level but have a great grounding
- Farsley flyers Christmas run.
- Ate lots of Greggs. See more
