During the summer of 2018 I went to the doctors and was told I needed to loose weight or I was in danger of becoming diabetic. Whilst on my allotment, I spotted Mel running with a group. I messaged her and she told me about the Ossy Joggers. I went along to their group in July 2018. I struggled at first but I persisted and received loads of encouragement and actually started to enjoy it. Since then, I've done a few 10k races and even completed the Hyndburn Half Marathon.
Best advice: Make some goals, try to meet them and then carry on.
Unusual fact: Whilst on a quick water stop during the Hyndburn Half Marathon, I got talking to a lady on her allotment and she gave me her greenhouse!
