About our group
Hi Everyone, I work across Torbay and South Devon where you'll agree the opportunities to run and complete yoga are endless, from flat beaches to hill climbs and scenic villages and parks we are spoilt for choice.
I first became interested in running thanks a newspaper article on what was then 'Women on the Run', with their help and support I changed from a 10 minute bimbler to a proud achiever of 4 marathons and 20 plus half marathons, raising money for many charities along the way.
I offer a run and yoga session on Saturday mornings at 8 am, routes are varied and I keep the RunTogether App updated on the whereabouts of the latest sessions. This time allows you to enjoy the rest of the day and to be very sociable with coffee shops open by the end of the run and yoga where we'll head for a quick catch up. We've also found in summer months in Torbay the sunshine hits hard so this timing prevents you from overheating. Testimonials speak for themselves from read life group members.
My aim now having completed a qualification aligned to British Athletics and Yoga & Pilates qualifcations aligned to YMCA accreditation standards would be to pass on skills and techniques. I've attended coaching and nutrition talks from specialists in their fields and this adds to the varied running and yoga experience I can offer you. Around 20 yeas plus of running means I provide insights into gait analysis, nutrition foods, warms up, cool down and a well measured 5k/ 3 miles routes and 3 years plus of muscle conditioning and strengthening means I elongate muscles, oxygenate them and breathing techniques reduce anxiety and tension.
Being a fully qualified Health Coach for nearly 9 years and newly qualified Recovery Practitioner means on a consistent basis I help people to change behaviours and am fully versed in balanced eating , physical activity motivation and confidence building. Also with a Degree in Exercise, Science, and being a fully qualified CYQ Chair Based Exercise, Gym Instructor with knowledge of Exercise Referral i feel very able to motivate you and progress you through a journey of change.
