About our group
Welcome to Hartshill Runners Telford.
Hartshill Runners are a new running group based in Telford, catering for beginners and improver running.
We are offering a free 10 week Couch to 5K course.
This is a free course to get you up and running in all aspects of running/fitness.
Part of Telford and Wrekin Be Active programme.
What you can expect from the course
• A running course for absolute beginners and those returning to fitness.
• Suitable for all ages.
• Coaching by qualified running leader/Coach
• Progress monitored along the way
• Based in Hartshill Park Oakengates.
• The course is absolutely free…..No signing on fees
What will the training sessions invlove? The training will consist of a run-walk programme for the first few weeks, with a warm up and cool down in each session.
What can I expect after the course?
You can expect after approximately 10 weeks of training to be able to run at least 5km. The key will be patience and support from friends, coaches and others runners from the group.
It is recommended that you attend at least two-three sessions per week at the start, but if you are unable to don’t worry, we all have busy lives it’s understandable.
Is it for me?
The course is available to any age and fitness level. If your goal is to start running or toget fit then this group is for you.
You will not be alone, regardless of fitness level.
Information can be provided on the basics of running and everything you need to turn up to Week 1 fully prepared, e.g. what clothes to wear. There will also be a talk on the health and safety aspects of running.
The training sessions will last for roughly 45 minutes. Allow extra time for chatting, cooling down etc.
We also have other groups that are training for 10Ks and more. These sessions are all lead by Leaders in running Fitness and are operated at the same time as ALL of our courses. Please contact for more information.
