About our group
J and M Running is all about getting people running in Mid Sussex, whatever their starting point.
We have been going for ten years now and have met some wonderful people whom we hope are still running, a bit, a lot, we don't mind!

A six week course for those who want to start running. We will build up gently towards completing 5k at the end of the course. Along the way, you will learn about good running form, get tips on technique and how to avoid injury. There will be two sessions per week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Total cost is £35 for all sessions in the six week course, which includes free run sessions later with J and M for the rest of the year! We want you sign up for all run sessions although you might have to miss a couple.

All runs are free to book once you have paid £35 for as many runs as you want. 'Book' the Payment Run (31st July 2022) and you are set to go.
If new, please try us out for free for a month before paying.
We (Julie and Marion) with Dave, Lisa, Gemma, Anna, Mark, Liz and Paul can help you to get started and learn to love running like we do. We provide friendly, no-frills groups so you can run with like-minded people.
Welcome to Mark who has just qualified as a run leader. His passion is off road running so look out for news of runs in his neighbourhood near West Hoathley.
Anna has started a daytime group on Wednesdays term time only meeting at the start of Ashenground and Bolnore Woods. Could be perfect for those who can't get away in the evenings.
Liz is back with us and is keen to explore offroad routes around Lindfield.
We are supporting the #RunAndTalk campaign with Mind which promotes awareness of running as a way to improve mental wellbeing. Look out for the next #RunAndTalk.
On Mondays a J and M Group led by Gemma and Mark meets at 7pm at Beech Hurst. This group aims to help runners progress to running 4 or 5 miles comfortably. Suitable for any pace.
On Tuesdays at 6.15pm, meeting at Clair Hall Car Park (RH16 3DN) is Paul's run. For all abilities who want to go further, and it's a mixture of off and on road, average distance 6 miles.
On Wednesdays 10am (term time only) is Anna's run meeting at the entrance to Ashenground and Bolnore Woods, RH16 4QA.
This will be a gentle paced run that is suitable for those that can already run 5k but want to increase their distance. It will be a mixture of on and off road (when it’s dry enough!)
Wednesday evening at 7.00pm the 'We run 5k slowly' group meets at Beech Hurst. The distance run will build up slowly and gently to 5k. This group is for those new to running or need to build up again after a long interval.
Lisa's 5k group meets on Thursdays and is aimed at those who have completed a Learn to Run course and can run about 5k. These runs will be about 5k at a gentle pace to help you to build up gradually. Meet at the car park behind the Co-op in Lindfield at 7pm on Thursdays.
We also have an Earlybirds Group that meets at 6.30 am at the Dolphin Leisure Centre in Haywards Heath on Fridays (term time only), led by Gemma. The runs with this group are a little longer, running about 5 miles.
Julie is currently offering regular Downs Runs on Sundays meeting at 7.30am, moving to 8.30am fortnightly in October at the Jack and Jill car park next to the windmills. All welcome.
All these group sessions have to be booked in advance.
We ask fo £35 a year for unlimited runs. First month free to try us out!
We donate the run money collected to charity – currently Crohn's and Colitis UK, St Peter and St James Hospice and CRY.
We are all qualified England Athletics run leaders or coaches. We are DBS checked and have attended safeguarding courses. Also, we are covered by public liability insurance.
