About our group
We are a group of mud-loving, trail running, off-road runners, with our primary focus being to provide encouragement, support and company to runners from absolute beginners to more experienced trail runners. Whether you are contemplating your first outing in running shoes, or are a regular to the running scene, we can help you with training, motivation and company. Our ten week courses began in 2014 and we have seen over 150 individuals go from complete beginner to confident runner, many of whom are now club members running on a regular basis socially and some competitively.
Our Beginners Courses take place over ten weeks. We start by walking and only progress to jogging when you feel ready. By the end of ten weeks we will be taking you out on a running route and watch you running with confidence. Before the course begins we will talk to you about your goals and objectives, as well as discussing any medical needs or concerns. We will individualise your experience so that you achieve exactly what you want to on the course, and at the same time ensure you have fun in a relaxed and informal setting.
Our Improvers and Intermediates Courses also take place over ten weeks and run alongside the beginners. This is a natural progression for those who have completed the beginners course or for more confident runners looking to improve running technique, increase distance or speed. These sessions consist of a mixture of interval training, hill work and exercises to improve your running strength, technique and speed.
All of our ten week courses cost £40 payable in advance and the venue will change every week - keep an eye on this website and/or our facebook page for location details.
