Penn Pacers - Feel Better, Run Faster, Be Strong!
About our group
Penn Pacers offers a range of training sessions and group runs designed for intermediate runners looking to enjoy and improve on distances from 5k - marathon.
We believe that running should make you feel healthier and happier and our activities are varied, supportive and team based. Our inclusive weekly training sessions are primarily speed and strength focused to help you become a fitter, more confident runner. They are led by a qualified coaches, Jo and Sharon and supported by run leaders Declan and Chris.
Our weekly training sessions are either based around Penn, Totteridge or the Little Marlow running track. Any group runs on offer are designed to provide a variety of routes, distances and paces to suit your personal race/ running objectives.
We also aim to provide a number of running focused, social events each year to give you a training goal to aim for. To date we have participated in the MK marathon relay, Big Half relay, ASICs 10k, Vitality 10,000 and Hatfield 5 as races as well as parkrun volunteer takeovers at Wycombe, Churchmead and Marlow.
The sessions are all delivered free of charge to ensure that anyone who wishes to enjoy the physical, social and mental benefits of running can do so. Separately, there is an opportunity to make a donation to the Penn Pacers Guide Dogs fundraising appeal. To date runners within this group have raised over £20,000 and funded six puppies, Pacer, Milton, Lucy, Phoebe Jojo and Andy, to enter Guide Dog training. As a qualified guide runner (and someone who is visually impaired herself) this is a cause very close to Jo's heart. You can find the donation link in the fundraising page.
