We welcome and cater for runners of all levels (except for total beginners, who can join our regular 10-week Learn to Run courses) to our legendary Saturday sessions, which have been running since August 2010. Rye Runners is structured to be adaptable to a range of abilities. This allows everyone to be challenged at their own current fitness level, rather than having to ‘keep up’ or ‘hold back’. In the course of the hour, we might cover anywhere between 3 and 6 miles, but it is rarely in the form of a steady run. Instead, we focus on ‘quality’ training like intervals, speedwork, hills or tempo efforts, along with some drills and exercises to improve strength and technique. We constantly vary the surface we run on and the routes we use, so no two sessions are identical, giving body and mind variety and interest. Our aim is to help everyone find a passion for running and create a lifetime habit that will pay dividends to their physical and mental wellbeing.
