About our group
RUNNING GROUPS: We have sessions for complete beginners, 5K Improvers and 6K-8K or 5K-10K Improvers.
Locations: We have numerous clubs across Greater Manchester located in Altrincham, Bramhall, Cheadle, Chorlton, Longsight, Old Trafford, Partington, Sale, Salford Quays, Stretford, Swinton, Urmston, Worsley and Wythenshawe.
Time: Various - please see individual group links above.
Cost: £2 a session, pay as you go, bring cash on the day!
Length of session: Usually an hour, but allow for 1 hour 15 minutes.
Session summary:
We always start with a fun group warm up and then split into our separate groups. Our Couch To 5Kers will complete their run/walk session whilst our 5K Improvers go for a run that is approximately 5K in length.
Our more advanced runners at our 6K-8K Improvers and 5K-10K Improvers sessions will go for a run between 6K-8K or 5K-10K that may also include hills or intervals.
All sessions include teaching points on how to run and we always complete cool down stretches afterwards.
Interested in Couch To 5K? If you attend every session and complete all the homework you can expect to be completing your first 5K in nine weeks. All runners who complete our Couch To 5K programme have the option to attend a graduation parkrun with MileShyClub to celebrate their first 5K.

WALKING GROUPS: Our walks are open to everyone. As a club we cater for all abilities and adapt our sessions to sure they are fully inclusive. Our walks generally do not exceed one mile.
Locations: We have clubs across Trafford located in Old Trafford, Sale, Stretford and The Trafford Centre.
Time: Times vary - please see locations linked above for details.
Cost: £2 a session, pay as you go, bring cash on the day!
Length of session: Sessions will not exceed 1 hour, with optional extra time for refreshments after.
Session summary: We begin the session with a mobility and flexibility warm up to help relieve any aching muscles and joints and we then go for a gentle, easy going, social walk of no more than a mile. We always close the session with some very gentle cool down stretches
All sessions delivered and led by Advanced Walk Leaders, trained in working with people with long term physical and mental health conditions.
