Sam Askey

Sam is a qualified Leader in Running Fitness, she says: " I started running in my mid thirties after the birth of my son. At the time my daughter was having treatment for cancer and I ran to distract myself and got a place on the great north run. I always thought I would hate running but as the training progressed I started to love it and caught the running bug. In 2016 I set myself the challenge to run a half marathon every month for a year to raise money for neuroblastoma UK. Durham Mums on the Run was there for me every step of the way and their support encouraged me to train as a run leader. When I'm not running you'll likely find me riding my bike exploring any muddy trails I can find."
