Mark Allen

My running/fitness journey began in 2002 when after 7 years in the reserve forces I excelled in the fit to couch potato programme! In 2010 I started to get my fitness back after taking note of where I was at. In 2011 a friend suggested taking on a new event called The Wolf Run. A 10k obstacle course race (OCR) utilising Woods Obstacles Lakes & Fields. From then I was hooked and an obsession with completing OCR's was born. I have undertaken 100's of events all around the country over the past 10 years & have actually got quite good at it. I've been lucky enough to represent Team UK OCR in America, Canada and the UK at the OCR World Championships. As well as OCR I have participated in a number of road races/events and since joining HLB a couple of years ago my own running has gone from strength to strength, the members continue to inspire and motivate me to be better and that is why I became a run leader. I hope to be able to use my experience and knowledge to help & support other members of the club in working towards whatever they want to achieve be that distance, time or pace.
