What you need to know

There's some things we like you to know about before you come...

Membership - our membership runs from 1st May - 30th April and costs £5 per year, £2 goes towards Friends of Moorside Park and £3 goes to our Run Club (so we can pay for more Run Leaders, publicity materials, general admin costs and just generally making our Run Club awesome). Membership forms can be printed and brought along with you or we have copies for you to complete when you arrive.

Who can join - Anyone is welcome to join our run club; we have a mixture of ages and abilities who come along (some of who are new to running, some who come for a jog/chat and some who are speedsters). Young people are welcome to come and join us (anyone under the age of 14 will need to have a parent/guardian with them for the duration of the session - who will need to complete a waiver form for them).

How to get there - We have a limited number of parking spaces available to the side of the Pavilion, there is also plenty of space to park on the road outside the park. If you are driving we ask that you are considerate to local residents and park on the park-side of the road (also consider car-sharing you if have to drive). If you are arriving by Public Transport, our nearest bus stop is on The Northern Road (the 54 bus route) and the park is a short (2 minute) walk from the bus stop.

What to bring - You don't need to have the latest running gear, fancy watches or any special equipment. We recommend you bring some water and a smile! There is always somewhere that you can lock away any valuables, so you don't need to worry about taking them with you.

What happens at the session - There are 3 different route options to choose from (ranging from 1-6 miles), the routes are posted on our website every Sunday.

It is YOUR responsibility to know the route you are running, this is for your own safety as well as ensuring we can leave promptly at 6:30pm. From 5th June we will no longer have printed copies of the routes available. You can download the Strava app and view/follow the routes and they are available online

We ask that people arrive around 6:20 to sign in and we leave at 6:30 (if it's your first week one of our lovely Run Leaders will be available to answer any questions you may have). Make sure you register online for the weekly session (this will help us if we need to cancel the session and well as it being a requirement of our insurance).

Social Media - You can find us on Facebook (search Moorside Park Run Club) as well as on Twitter and Instagram (@FOMP_Run_Club), make sure to use our # if you are posting any updates: #FOMPRC

Run Club Rules - The one rule of Run Club is that you have to tell everyone about Run Club - share your stories, achievements on our social media pages and tell your friends about us (spread the Moorside magic).
