Welcome to our running group
About our group
Rayleigh RAT (Road And Trail) Runners are small friendly social running group, based in Rayleigh, meeting up 2-3 times a week. Formed from the Run England Run Group Rayleigh Road Runners, we decided upon a change of name as wanted to reflect our enjoyment of all terrain running.
In the group, we have an extensive range of experience, having run for a number of years, participating in races from 5k to marathons and are more than happy to offer help and advise if we can. If you would like to come and join us, you would be very welcomed.
- Tuesday's we normally do shorter easy paced runs of about 3 miles, meeting at 7:30pm in the Rayleigh Station car park on The Approach / Swallow Close junction.
- Thursday are longer, faster runs normally between 5 - 7 miles, meeting at 7.30pm outside St Nicholas School in Priory Chase (Behind Asda).
- Saturdays generally see some of us at the local parkruns, normally either Basildon, Hockley Woods or Hadleigh.
We like to keep things as simple as possible, so try to keep the admin & rules to the minimum. There is an initial joining fee of £5, and is payable annually with all run sessions free to full group members. All payments received are 100% re-invested in the group, being used to help fund additional Run Leader training or essential club equipment.
On joining the group, you will need to complete a Registration Form. Please note we are not UKA affiliated so you will have to pay full price when entering any events.
Also please check us out on Facebook, where you will find further information.
