Rayleigh RAT Runners

Rayleigh RAT (Road And Trail) Runners are a small and friendly social running group, based in Rayleigh, Essex, who meet 2-3 times a week. Formed from the Run England Run Group 'Rayleigh Road Runners', we decided upon a change of name as we wanted our name to reflect our enjoyment of all terrain running.

In the group, we have an extensive range of experience, participating in races from 5k to marathons and are more than happy to offer help and advice, if we can. If you would like to come and join us, you would be very welcomed (see below for further information).

- Tuesday's we normally do shorter, easy paced runs of about 3 miles, normally meeting at 7:00pm in the Station car park on The Approach, SS6 9AA (at the far end by Birds Estate entrance - Swallow Close).

- Thursday's are longer, faster runs normally between 5 - 7 miles, meeting at 7.00pm (location dependent on route/season/runleader choice).

- Saturday's generally see some of us at the local parkruns, normally either Hockley Woods, Basildon, South Woodham Ferrers, Wickford, Chalkwell or Hadleigh.

We like to keep things as simple as possible, so there are minimal admin and rules. There is an initial joining fee of £10 and £5 per year thereafter. All payments received are 100% re-invested in the group, used to help fund additional Run Leader training or essential club equipment.
